Objective:

- Taking the "heavenly bodies" concepts from the classroom to actual observation
Procedure:

Class meets in late evening on an appropriate date (weather, moon phase) and views the moon through amateur telescopes.  Teacher should borrow telescopes from any available sources, and/or students may bring family telescopes.  Parental participation is ideal.
 
 

 Materials:

 - Handout photo/diagram of the moon for comparison

-  Amateur celestial telescopes or high power binoculars
