-  Part 2 of activity to determine the knowledge of the solar system of (a) other students (b) family members 

- To determine opinions about the value of space exploration by these groups

Students conduct an informal survey among their schoolmates, using the survey questions from the previous activity.

Students each take 5 surveys home and informally have family members complete them.  

Results from the two groups are kept separate.

Under teacher direction results are tabulated and entered into a spreadsheet program such as Excel, QuattroPro, or MSWorks, and graphed.  This also serves as an introduction into the use of spreadsheets for eventual reports.
