Activity Pages

There are a total of 29 Activity Pages, and activity #2 leads off into the "Tour of the Solar System" to increase student awareness of the solar system.  Most activities are "Required" for the I-Search Project, but a few are "Optional".  Check the Activity Overview page for list of required and optional.

Each student should have a Project Journal.  Some activities will indicate a journal entry, but a student should be prepared to make a personal entry at any time, particularly to recall information.  A Journal entry will often take the format of answering the questions:

"What have I learned?" (Information that is new)

"What does that mean to me?" (What particularly interested you about that information?  )

Students should also make notes of the source for the information... they may need to return when working on their project.

Activities are in four "Phases".  Phase 1 attempts to expose the students to the topic area in a broad way to open up many possibilities for further investigation.  Phase 2 assists the students to clarify which Question(s) they might wish to go further with.  Phase 3 introduces some tools to make the job of gathering information for the project and producing a Final Report, both to the teacher and to the class as a whole, easier and more "professional".  Phase 4 is the production and delivery of the Final Report on the Question area students have adopted.
